Kyushu {#1 Fukuoka } ～ The Ramen City ～

Talking about Fukuoka, what strongly comes to my mind is the Kyushu Ramen.
With the specieal taste and texture of noodle, it wins a great recognition of Japanese Ramen over the world. 

Fukuoka City is the entrance gate to Northern Kyushu, as the most important city in terms of logistics and economy. Generally, Japanese calls Fukuoka simply as Hakata - the central region of Fukuoka. Once interesting thing about the City is that, the airport is simply 20 minutes away from the city centre, which is the nearest airport to the city in Japan.

The international terminal is quite far from the general transportation,
therefore it is a must to take this shuttle bus.

My arrival time for the day is pretty late...
So all I do is to get off at Tenjin station in Hakata for the famous Ramen.
 This area is the origin of many international Ramen shop like Ippudo.
But I was too hungry on the way finding for Ippudo, I stopped by the Ichiran on the TemjinWest Street>>

What's special about ichiran is the interior design of the shop - the study room.

Unlike the Hong Kong culture of having Ramen as a high-class 'group activity', Japanese has been eating Ramen for a quick meal or when alone.

It is actually a great space, where no one on earth could see your horrible faces gulping in your Ramen.

Instead of having a static board between the table, the divider could actually fold up wider flexibility. 

What really impressed me is this bowl♡

And i specially ordered level 8 spice and strong miso flavour.

Then, walking deeper for 2 blocks from Ichiran, here comes the first Ippudo Ramen restaurant, opened in 16 October1985. 

Opening time:
Monday to Thursday -11:00〜23:00 
Friday and before holiday -11:00〜24:00 
Saturday 10:30〜24:00 
Sunday and holiday 10:30〜23:00

I would also recommend this crispy dumpling♡

Maybe because Ippudo does not offer DIY flavour selection, so I found the taste less strong as expected. It tastes better whrn served with crushed sesame.
