This post is only about taking the ferry from Kokura to Shikoku, if you would like to know about hanging around the city of Kokura, please read this post instead >> (But still there's nothing much in Kokura...) In the past, Hong Kong did not have any direct flight to Shikoku, hence this is the easiest way to get there from Fukuoka... Despite the ease of getting to Shikoku nowadays, I still appreciate my great-old-way of hetting there by a night cruise ship, as the experience is exceptionally interesting.  ******** As an important transportation hub, around Kokura station has a lot of night food stalls for the busy travellers. It is now known for its architectural complex of old villages. The most common traveler activity is the kimono experience. Since we are lack of time, I was unable to get to the town... So here I arrived at the Princesses' place of Hello Kitty Land - Harmony Land. This seems to be the very only tourist spot around this area, as this place is simply composed of  farms and low-rise residence. It is better to check in advance if the JR train you are taking is connected to a bus service.  The bus will takes 20 minutes to arrive at Harmony Land, so if you missed the bus it will cost you quite a lot on a taxi... Beppu City is located in the middle of Oita Prefecture, is backed by Tsurumi Volcano Group and faces the sea. The city is full of hot springs.   It is the number one in Japan for hot springs, global ranking following by the world's Yellowstone National Park.  There are more than 200 public hot springs in the city.
