Northern Snow《Winter》 { Yamagata - 山形} ~ the beautiful mountain city ~
Yamagata city is the most populous city within the Yamagata prefecture. I really love this region, as along the bus transit from Sendai, surrounding me are beautiful mountains and landscape of fields and rivers. The gorgeous outline of mountains suggested the reason why the place is named as Yamagata - the formation of mountains.
Highly recommended the matsugawa bento (松川便當) on the right. Smells great with beef.
The castle is currently under renovation and enlargement projects.

There's a elevated viewing deck overlooking at the main entrance.
One of the infamous part of Yamagata Castle is the eastern gate.
The stone wall here on the right of the gate is existing remains of the wall.
And the historic canal.
