Tohoku { Nyuto onsen - 乳頭溫泉} ～Onsen deep in the wood～

On my way to Nyuto Onsen,
Say hi to my favourite snow mochi♡

Get off at the central station for Nyuto onsne,
A transitional station to the ski park, and the Nyuto Onsen Street.
This station is basically closed during winter, except the toilet and the bus waiting room.

Here comes the booked-in-advance hotel shuttle bus~~
If you are living at yama no like us,
 please tell the driver, or you will be sent directly to the main hotel...

Bright corridor

The resort is designed with an U-shape.
So from the corridor could actually see my room in the front.

The room is huge, with seperate bathroom, toilet, washing basin and rock chair

I really love these antique furniture♡

To the and of the corridor for the dining hall.

The snow passage.
 I was stunned by its volume and height♡

If you would like to go for the onsen,
You have to get to the outdoor for a while...
That's Freezing...

 

The onsen is not very big,
But the white colour has already drive me insane~~

And the most important point in staying at this resort (instead of the traditional main hotel), is the private outdoor Onsen in the right sliding door!!
It is opened for first come first serve with no reservation.

Silhouettes of branches simply freeze the time ♡

No wonder the nyuto onsen is a mixed-gender hot spring. Everyone is well-covered in white♡

I am super lucky to booked this complex 2 instead of staying in the main famous complex.

This one is simply a meditarion resort with privacy and lone moment with nature.

 ********

Time arrangement

Better to arrive by 4pm, so you could book the dinner at 1830, hence take the night shuttle bus at 2030 to see the nightscape of the main complex (and that is a must!!)

I suggest to hit the main complex in the morning again as it gives a very different feel of the landscape.

Access
JR田沢湖 > Nyuto line 羽後交通 乳頭線 > Nyuto Onsen
If you are staying at the resort, please contact the staff at the tourist information centre and they will arrange a shuttle bus from the resort for you, as you have to transit to the hotel shuttle

Take off at Arupa Komakusa Station (アルパこまくさ) , then you will see the shuttle bus to the hotel

* Remember to tell the bus driver to drop off at Yama no Yado if you are staying the same hotel as i did. Or else you will be transported to the main complex directly LOL

The resort only accept bookings by telephone call. Therefore it is better to find your credit card platimum secretary to help booking it. There's only 5 rooms in traditional style, hence it is better to book it half a year in advance, especially for thr peak season dueing winter.

The complex 2 Yama no I stayed offers online booking with rakuten, so booking is much easier.
